The method of calculation applied is the same as the French Sailing Fédération (F.F.V = Fédération Française de Voile) uses. The number of points is given for each regatta according to the category, the number of boats classified during the regatta (without DNA), and the competitor's final result.
Four best races will count for the Euro-Cup 2002. In case where no race can be sailed (lack of wind, etc..) each team-member who was ready to sail, can add 1/3 of his total points achieved in his three best Euro-Cup races.
Helmsman and crew will be classified seperately. This gives a crew the possibility to win the Euro-Cup.
